Exposition “Abundance & Supplement” in the Vleeshal in Middelburg. December 17th 2004 – January 2nd 2005 “Years ago I had a wish to arrange a mediaeval, rich Burgundy meal on a long table in the Vleeshal in Middelburg. The idea of the table remained and kept pace with the times In the western part of the world we have food and good in abundance. I thought it very strange that we should be in need of extra food supplements. More and more stores and places sell more and more these supplements. Walls full of pills. It is certainly not meant as a statement against or for, but more an ‘I wonder why’ note.” Installation ‘Supplement‘: The installation named ‘Supplement’ is a 30m long table, set up in the middle of the Vleeshal. A bright white tablecloth is put over the table. This time not with a gorgeous Christmas or a feast meal, but with food supplements. A row of pills in all colors and 100 glasses of water with the same distance between every glass, ending in a 3-dimensional piece, a triangle consisting of 2 parts “Silver Triangle I & II, with empty bottles, flacons, jars etc., painted silver. One Triangle is placed on top of the other. A dinner consisting of pills and water. ‘Abundance’ There are niches on either side of the Vleeshal, 30 together.
