Where Is Resveratrol Found?
Resveratrol is concentrated in the skin of red grapes, which is why red wine, especially the Pinot Noir variety, contains far higher amounts of resveratrol than white wines.
However to obtain an adequate dose of resveratrol from red wine you would have to drink a few bottles of red wine a day. Wines grown in dry climates have less resveratrol than those grown in humid areas.
But there is good news. You don’t need to drink copious amounts of red wine to get the benefits from Resveratrol as it is also sourced from the root and stems of the giant Knotweed or Japanese Knotweed, a traditional herb used in Japanese and Chinese medicine.
It is understood that Japanese Knotweed is the richest source and contains the highest concentrations of resveratrol. For example, this product may contain the average equivalent of the resveratrol content of 35 bottles of red wine sourced from Japanese Knotweed.
